Dr. Adam Sassoon

Your Orthopaedic Surgeon in Los Angeles

As a medical student I fell in love with being in the operating room.  The idea of using my hands to physically cure someone of a medical problem is something toward which I immediately gravitated.  Orthopaedic Surgery stood out a subspecialty because I enjoyed the various techniques employed and, reliably, patients’ function was greatly enhanced following surgery.  There was immediate gratification in seeing a patient enter the hospital in a wheelchair and walk out on their own two feet.

Joint replacement and trauma might be the two subspecialties in Orthopaedic Surgery in which this metamorphosis is most evident.  Patients shackled by arthritis or rendered immobile with broken limbs are liberated and made whole again.  It is affecting and witnessing this transformation that brings me to work each day with a smile on my face and hope in my soul.
